But when I go to Options, Advanced, and look under Compatibility Options for for a document that ![]() I have fiddled with footnote options in Word 2016 to no avail, so the only solution seems to be to layout documents as if they were made in Word 2010. When I have a document that is laid out in two columns the footnotes don’t always start underneath the column containing the footnote reference, and there is no footnote separator line between the second column and the footnote text underneath the second column. Footnotes in Word 2016 tend to spill onto the next page too often, and ![]() ![]() Unfortunately I hate how Word 2016 handles footnotes. I have a Personal Office 365 subscription that allows me to have Word 2016 on one computer.
